St Mary's College is an all girls' school situated in the Creggan area of Derry in Northern Ireland. Over the years, since its opening in 1959, it has gained an international reputation for excellence. Its latest accolade has been winning the European Quality Award. In their feedback report, the assessors described St Mary's as:

"A guiding star, leading the way, not just for comparable schools in Northern Ireland but also throughout Europe."

The feedback from the United Kingdom Business Excellence Award in 2000, also reflected the excellent work of the school by stating that:

"St Mary's shines like a beacon of hope for the future. The level of enthusiasm throughout the staff is simply a joy to experience and this obviously has a knock-on effect on the pupils who are bright, smart and without exception, helpful and courteous."
