Welcome to the Abbey Vocational School's President's Award Site!


The President's Award - Gaisce, is the National Challenge Award from The President of Ireland to young people between fifteen and twenty five years of age. The Award is coordinated throughout Ireland and also operates in conjunction with other youth awards throughout the world. Click logo for more information.
 The Abbey Vocational School is one of the biggest in the region with almost 900 students and about 80 members of staff. The President's Award is offered to all senior students, i.e. Transition Years, Fourth Years and Fifth Years, and a wide variety of activities are participated in by our students including: helping the disabled, producing books for charity, horse riding, giving swimming lessons, cycling, walking, mentoring 1st Years, music lessons, computer classes, driving lessons and lots more!
