Lough Allen College has provided a second level education in Drumkeerin since 1934. Previously, it was known as Drumkeerin Vocational school and is proud to have provided much needed second level educational facilities in mid Leitrim and west Cavan to thousands of students since its inception.
Educational expert opinion now accepts that small schools have many advantages that larger anonmymous institutions have serious flaws,that are all too evident.We believe that it is important to maintain a College like Lough Allen College in rural Ireland.
In a community based school such as ours, students may develop their character as whole persons and graduate as confident ,informed individuals with the personal attributes necessary for the modern world.in other words, they will be creative well balanced citizens of their country, able to contribute uniquely to its development, to Europe and indeed to mankind.
